Velcro Wall

So this happened today.  I'm laughing about this still, even as I type it.  Madison was laughing really hard here too, which you can see.  Tonight's event at FCY United featured a service with worship, games and lots of energy.  And outside, there were all kinds of inflatables, including this one here, the velcro wall.

I got here just in time - I was wandering around taking pictures of the event, and just so happened to get here as all this velcro wall action was happening.  I was hoping Maddie would try it out, and she was reluctant to do it at first.  The heat from today was also something else.  But her friend gave it a try, and so therefore it was her turn.  She ran right up there and bounced against the wall, but didn't get terribly high.  Or, at least not high enough for Pastor Lance.  He grabbed hold of her after a few tries, and pressed her up against the wall a bit higher up.  But that wasn't quite high enough either, so he got Tucker to come over and give him a hand...

The end result was hysterical.  She was up there, stuck on the wall.  It kind of reminded me of the Muppets at the ned of "Muppets Most Wanted."  Pastor Lance was thrilled!  There was another photographer over there catching the action from a different angle, and here's his picture:

It was such a great moment, and I'm so glad I was there.  I have a bunch of pictures here of the velcro wall, so let me share those here below.

Yes, there were other things to do there of course.  Maddie was having a great time going from thing to thing.  You can see one classic inflatable below, where you hop from one spot to the next.  Or, at least, you can if you're good enough.

Maddie is good enough.  And she ought to be, given that she's been doing this same inflatable for years now!  Others were struggling to get across, but Maddie just casually hops from one to the next to the next to the next to the final part where she slides on down.  Yep, no problem at all.

There were slides, but this jousting event here was one event Maddie wanted to do most of all:

She and a friend were battling it out up there, and at the end of it all, she was the winner, not by knocking him off, but rather by pushing him off once he fell down on his back.  She just pushed his weight over the side, and he was gone!

Here's another event that Maddie tried out - a game where you've got a bungee attached, and you race forward as far as you can go in hopes of getting a basketball in the hoop.

She had a great time tonight, and it was good to be with friends.  It was warm out there, but they had a great time staying until the last possible minute together.

We had KidPak this morning, of course, and it was fantastic.  We got home, ate and showered, and ran right back to church for FCY.  Sundays are always such full days.  There were three songs of worship, some games inside, and then all the fun you see above.  There's so much to do at church - Maddie was at adult service first, then serving at KidPak for Storm Chasers, and then off to FCY tonight.

What a day!
