Mom had a surprise for us when we got home this afternoon. That's no watermelon... that's a space station! She had dinner set up, and you can see the lightsaber napkins there as well as another treat you'll see a photo of shortly... but first, that watermelon!
Mom made a Death Star watermelon, a great centerpiece to the table. We got caught in its tractor beam right away, and drawn into a delicious Star Wars themed dinner. What was the main entry?
Roast porg! Yes, Madison saw that and just blurted out, "Oh no!" It was funny, and if Chewbacca likes it, then I suppose we can appreciate a properly cooked porg as well.
This is made from pretty thick material. It came with a book, one dedicated to the Millennium Falcon, of course. It took a little time to put together, but I was doing that while I was watching the livestream. And look what we did after dinner:
Here's the obligatory "mess" cookie we usually decorate. This one is Madison's design, the usual "evil" cookie of the batch.
Mom took the last bit of dough and even made me a little Death Star design. We love doing cookies at our house, and we usually spend a good deal of time adding the colored sprinkles and designs.
Ah, here's Boba Fett. This one took me a good bit of time to do, although it might not look like it. We were sitting there listening to some Star Wars music as we sat there at the kitchen table doing cookie after cookie.
Anyway, we wrapped that up, but that wasn't all for today. "The Bad Batch" premiered tonight, and so we all got together on the couch to watch pretty awesome first movie.
So the rest of the day was pretty normal, outside of wearing Star Wars t-shirts and socks. And okay, I did my treadmill workout watching the new Star Wars "Biomes" and "Fly-throughs" that premiered today as well. But beyond that, we were doing a good bit of work as well. Madison had her Milestones test today, another ELA one that she said wasn't too bad. I was doing skits for KidPak, and Mom was doing work on the garden again, planting some items in the back by a tree we have there, and doing some clearing. Our wrens are growing up, getting bigger and bigger, and it won't be long before we have our front door again!
Tonight we read from Exodus again, more specifications and a passage about underwear, with which Madison was like, "Really?" Yes, it's important for high priests to keep their underwear on. We read "Kingdom Keepers II" again after this, and then it was time for prayers. We had a fun day today!
