Cinco de Mayo

Mom had a Mexican feast for us today as we celebrated Cinco de Mayo together on the back deck.  We had the laptop playing ranchero band music, and the table was just loaded with toppings for tacos, burritos and tortillas.  There were spicy peppers and grilled chicken, beef, onions, lettuce, salsa, cheese, and lots of sombreros!  It was super nice out there.

Tonight Madison had her small group night online, and due to her piano teacher having the virus, she did her piano class virtually again, just like she was doing a year ago.  She had a Milestones test today, and felt like she did pretty well on it.  In fact, the general feeling is that she has been doing pretty good on all these tests lately.

Tomorrow she doesn't have a Milestones test, as they're taking a day off from all that.  They were actually going to watch "Moana" in one class, something she had to have a permission slip signed for.  I have no idea why.  Maybe it's the word "butt cheek?"

Anyway, she could chill tonight.  We all could, in fact.  I had my class this morning, the cardio therapy class, and it went much better than last time, as I was pacing myself a bit better.  I actually went the same distance, warming up more quickly so I could start out with a higher pace, but not pushing myself as I did last time.  The heart rate and blood pressure are down.  Things are looking good there.

We read some more tonight, and we said our prayers, although not in Spanish.  We attempted that when saying grace at the table, but quickly abandoned that idea when we realized how bad it was going.  Regardless, it was a blessed meal, and so pleasant outside.  Mom and Nana have been gardening, and things are looking really nice outside, and it's just been great to be outside lately.
