Comic Book Hero Day

Today was Free Comic Book Day once again, so our first stop this morning was over at the local comic book store in Oakwood, where they had a table set up in the back with lots of comics to choose from.  You can see Madison here with a DC Superhero Girls comic, a Guardians of the Galaxy one, and yep, there's a Descendants comic too.  Daddy picked up a few Marvel comics, a few steampunk comics, and a Wonder Woman comic.  This is the year for Wonder Woman, as a new movie is coming out in about a month.  For now though, it's all about the Guardians of the Galaxy, as their movie is out in theaters this weekend.

It was a comic book hero sort of day though, because we were immediately filming after this.  We rented a hospital bed, and were filming a scene from our upcoming Summer Xtreme Heroes movie.  It's a hospital scene, obviously, and Madison was hamming it up a bit here:

You can also see that Madison was in charge of taking behind-the-scenes photos for a bit.  Daddy held the boom, while Madison was snapping away candid shots of all of us as we did a scene where one of our heroes is recovering in a hospital room.  Here are some of her photos that she took during the shooting today:

Again, Madison took all of these above.  And for the first time, she's using the grown-up camera, and was having a great time with it!  She did a good job, careful not to get in the way, and cautious when it came to snapping photos only in between shots.

It was al long day though.  We were setting up for a new series as well, which meant new costumes (just wait until you see Dr. Octopus tomorrow).  It also meant a new display case, which is based on the superhero theme again, just like last May.  Only this time, we've added some new heroes, namely Wonder Woman and the Guardians of the Galaxy.  It came out well!

At the end of the day, we had a visit from a certain superhero who will be with us tomorrow.  We're learning about how with great power comes great responsibility.  It's going to be a lot of fun!
