Chill!

Madison was off to school this morning once again, and as you can see here, she's dressed warmly.  It was a good day, one with gym as her special class, and one with no homework either.  The kids all had a great Christmas break, and everyone wore new clothes to school.  Madison wore her "Trolls" shirt, which got a lot of great responses.  Meanwhile, Mommy and Daddy were at the office getting things ready for a great weekend, maybe.  We'll see about it, but this weekend we're going to start "Big Top," a new series.

The set is starting to look amazing.  The guys have worked really hard on it, and it shows.  Meanwhile, the books and banners and videos are looking great.  Mommy will be working on costumes and finishing up the display case tomorrow, while Daddy will hopefully have that script finished for Sunday.  A lot is in the air this weekend because of the weather.  There have been concerns that the patches of black ice will persist until even Monday morning.  But as we're in Georgia, we just don't tend to really know much until it happens, so we'll just wait and see.  A lot is going on at our church on Sunday, from this new series to the start of our fast to the start of a new church in Buford.  And now this... it's definitely going to be an interesting weekend.  One thing is certain:  if it snows, Madison and Daddy will be building a snow man Saturday morning, and certainly using a sled.  Oh my goodness... we have a sled.  I just remembered we've been holding on to a sled that we didn't give Madison last year because it never snowed.  So this plastic thing has been in the crawl space upstairs for two years now... oh, that will be a nice surprise!

Anyway, there are a lot of preparations going on right now.  Madison had her first ballet class of the year (yesterday's session was all about the upcoming production of "Into the Woods").  It went well, of course, and Mommy was able to go get some groceries.  Daddy and Mommy got wood this morning, so we're good there too.

We're talking about the circus, so tonight before bed we had just enough time to watch "The Monkees Go to the Circus" with Madison.  It was an episode of "The Monkees" where they save a circus.  It was funny, and had some things in common with the circus-themed "Madagascar 3."  Both are great to watch for the circus.  While we were preparing at church today, we had on the television the movie "First of May," another circus-themed movie.  It's pretty good if you ever get a chance to see it.

We read to Madison tonight, more from "Moving Target" and the next few chapters of the Bible.  Madison's mouth dropped when she heard about Enoch, and when we told her who was the son of Lamech (Noah), her eyes opened wider:  she knows Noah!  It's a wonderful thing reading a Bible to her for the first time.  We're getting a lot out of it ourselves!

We prayed and gave her kisses goodnight.  And then there's still the traditional zerbert.  She still gets those - and gives those - each night before bed.  Mommy and Daddy went downstairs to watch a few more episodes of "Mork and Mindy," and then we too were off to bed.  It's been a great day, but tomorrow will be pretty interesting for sure.  We're ready for the snow - hopefully we can get KidPak ready as well!
