So our raptor finally made his debut on stage this morning, and what a reaction that got. Of course, we set it up in such a way that there were a whole lot of screams, as Megan with the basket above is going on and on about how it's a good thing there's actually behind that door when it opened, and facing away from the door, she doesn't see the raptor plodding out there. That's me in the raptor costume, by the way. He's back in his cage now, a cage built somewhat like the ones seen in Jurassic Park. He should be safe and secure this week there. Although I did hear some scratching when we were walking by the cage in the hallway. I think he's testing it for weaknesses...
That was the big thing for the day today. Calvin was back from Washington with us on stage with a role and everything, and one of the funnier roles he's had. He has to go back in a few days, so after church, we all went to eat at a nearby Chinese restaurant together. Maddie enjoyed that. Her favorite meal currently is General Tso's chicken, which is somewhat predictable, given that it has a bit of a spicy flavor to it.
We got home for just a little bit and cleaned up, and then shortly after that we were back at it again: back to church for Free Chapel Youth. Small groups was good tonight, she said. I had gone back home this time, as I was just super tired. But they started a new series tonight called Friday Night Lights, which has a football theme to it. Nevertheless, Maddie enjoyed the night as always, enjoyed the messages and the good company.
With no school tomorrow or any plans early, we watched "Cruella" tonight, which was actually a pretty good movie. It was set in the 70's in London during the punk rock movement, which was such a great era to experience again with clothing styles and music. I didn't know what I'd think of the movie, but we all liked it quite a bit.
It was late when the movie ended, so we were off to sleep after that fairly quick. Of course, this after reading, and prayers. Hopefully tonight will have a better night's rest.
