Seen above is the "I Don't Care Bear," a new plush animal that represents the wonderful feeling of giving up and/or not caring anymore. He looks pretty done with it. Other Care Bears in the past have represented cheer, friendship, or tenderheartedness, some really nice feelings of course. They come from the Kingdom of Caring, which seemed like a nice place. However, I think the bear in the photo above comes from the "Kingdom of Not Caring." This is where you'll find other unpleasant bears like Betrayal Bear, Bad Mood Bear, Arguing Bear, and of course Duplicitous Bear. These bears like to come out from time to time and do their mischief. Sometimes the hurt is deeper, and it's hard to get over. But hopefully we can get past this.
Today was Rosh Hashanah, which explains why Mom made a wonderful presentation of sliced apples and honey for everyone after dinner. We had a pizza, and then the traditional apples and honey dish. To announce the new year, we even got the shofar out, just as we do from time to time. We went out on the back deck and trumpeted that thing, both Zena and I. It can be super loud. I'm sure there were others in the neighborhood that couldn't figure out exactly what that noise was or where it was even coming from. But we blew that shofar regardless, and it was fun.
On the way back from piano class tonight, we stopped by the grocery store to pick up a few items, and yes, we got some Count Chocula. I didn't wait until morning to have a bowl, opting to make that my dessert tonight. Maddie said she had some homework to do, so she was off upstairs, so we popped in "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken" again, watching the misadventures of Luther Heggs, which is a movie that gets funnier to me each time I see it. Not sure why that is. I just love the "Attaboy Luther" gag throughout the flick. So yeah, we're in our fall movie season again.
It rained today, but despite that the hummingbirds were still frequent visitors. The spiders too, but we took care of that. Mom was doing a lot of work on the scarecrow today, and Nana was there with her for most of it, just sitting and looking out at the front yard in contemplation. We all went to bed earlier tonight, this after reading a bit and of course praying. Good night!
