We got a Tombstone Pizza tonight, just because it had a big picture of Lurch on the front. Maddie is not a huge fan of Tombstone pizzas, but she was ready for pizza tonight, and I was too. We even had some gluten-free pizza for Mom, so the four of us ate some pizza tonight at the table. Speaking of "Halloween Food," we also completed the Monster cereal collection tonight:
You can see above the complete collection of Monster cereals in our house tonight. We're prepared for breakfast in October. And late night snacks. Seriously, I have a bowl of cereal even at night, when it's monster cereals! Arlo is in the corner there, because I was working on a sermon for this weekend based on "The Good Dinosaur." I should finish up tomorrow.
It's been a rainy week, which has made for a miserable "staycation." Not that we were planning on anything super awesome this weeks. Things as they are, we have to stay home right now. I can't imagine taking Nana anywhere that requires a long trip or even spending the night anywhere else. She's up all night - I can hear the door opening and closing, and the toilet paper roll in the next room over is a sound I'll have in my mind the rest of my life! All through the night. And all through the day, she constantly needs something to do. And if she doesn't have anything to do, she throws her hands up and goes to check the weather outside, and then returns to make known her observations about the day. And if you don't have anything for her to do, then she throws her hands up and rolls her eyes as if you've really let her down, and then she either goes outside to the deck or the bedroom to cry for a while, and then she gets up, walks down to go outside and check the weather, and the whole thing starts again. When the weather is rainy, there's no escape. During the nicer weather, Mom can go outside and garden, and Nana can sit in a chair and watch. But rainy days are hard. Today and yesterday were rainy days.
Maddie had her piano class tonight, and you can see where we stopped afterwards by looking at the pictures up top. We dropped by the grocery store, and then scooted home to eat and watch a movie. Tonight's feature was "Ghostbusters," which apparently is the start of the trilogy of movies we'll be watching the next few nights, per Maddie's request.
We read tonight, and after that we prayed. The weather is going to clear up tomorrow, and a new season will be upon us. We'd really like that.
