Loop Day

Today is Loop Day, so of course tonight we watched "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" once more, which is becoming September's version of "Groundhog Day," just with more eyeballs.  I actually really like this book and I like the movie too.  It's a great concept.  We were on our way back from taekwondo, and I had that song "Run Rabbit Run" suddenly play in the car, and it got a few laughs.  But Nana remembers that song and was singing along, despite the fact that she didn't quite know the reference.  She was watching the movie with us tonight, and I wonder how many other people watch this on September 3rd?

If today were an actual loop day here, it wouldn't be the most exciting one, although we did do a few things.  Of course, we mentioned taekwondo earlier.  Maddie was doing a fun sparring session where they were fighting in groups of three.  They would each take turns battling two versus one.  So at one point, Maddie was fending off two others.  In the unlikely event of an actual moment where there are two people ganging up on any of these students, Master Edge was showing some practical tips on how to engage, or not engage and run away!

Today's big task for me was to get my dinosaur back!  I went down to Braselton with a passenger van, and after a bit of labor, we got the raptor into the van and then straight to KidPak.

We tested it out for a bit, and it's cumbersome as always.  But the challenge is moving it around in a very tight space backstage.  We're wanting to have the raptor come out on stage this Sunday, and I know that will result in a lot of screams from the kids.  Want to talk about great timing?  We were hindered from doing this series until this year, but it wasn't until this year that we actually had this dinosaur.  It's almost like this series was waiting for the perfect time.  We took off the collar shortly after this picture.  I hav Eno idea why a raptor is wearing a collar.  I mean, that implies there's a leash, maybe?  Who would be stupid enough to hold a raptor on a leash?  Okay, enough about the collar.  I just think that's weird.  I have this big rubber leash on the ground backstage right now.

Okay, anyway, it was a good Loop Day.  Again, not sleeping so well in the early hours of morning, but tonight we had no problem getting to sleep.  We read from our book, said our prayers, and were off to bed, still singing "Run Rabbit Run."
