Felt and Cheeseburgers

Rain, rain, rain... and more rain.  It's been tough.  Nana has been miserable.  Yet here's something that can cheer you up!  It's another holiday!  That's right, today is National Felt Hat Day.  But wait?  What's this?  There's another national day today as well?  Sure enough, it's National Double Cheeseburger Day as well!

Yes, it's Wednesday, and that means Camille hosted another small group night online.  I helped her with the game again, and for this one, I combined both national days to make a National Felt Hat Double Cheeseburger Day game.

Basically, the game featured a whole lot of different hats, and we showed three at a time on the screen.  Beneath one of those hats... was a double cheeseburger.

Yeah, we celebrate the big stuff around here each Wednesday night.  Maddie's enjoying the small group, and Camille and Lauren are doing such a great job with this, as they've been doing since early 2020.  This small group is one of the legacies of that event, and as we don't have services on Wednesdays, this really is a great option for the girls.

Did we mention it rained today?  Yeah.  Rain.  All day.  We did some indoor work today, of course a lot of new writing.  I'm working on next month's new messages for "The Lost World," as we're extending that series by two weeks because of a delay with the set designers.  That's okay.

Mom set up a table with black tablecloth on it, and we put the Haunted Mansion board game on it, just in time for this season upcoming.  It looks great there, and I can't wait to play it again, along with some appropriate background music.  Moo-ah-ah-ah!

Speaking of music, today I got the new Secret Music Volume 2 from the They Might Be Giants Instant Fan Club.  It's not the CD yet - that comes later.  But there was a download of that available for members, so I was happy to take advantage of that.  I was listening to that on the treadmill, a mix of different versions of older songs, and some I haven't heard before too.  I had a POV of a walk along a trail in the fall playing while I was marching along.  I'm trying to keep up that habit with the treadmill, as the brush with a virus kept me off that for a time.

Anyway, tonight we had a "What If..." episode, and another new episode of "Turner & Hooch," which has been fun to watch as well.  We said our prayers tonight after reading, and soon after that, we were all sleeping soundly, dreaming of felt hats and double cheeseburgers.
