Little Toot

We had another fun morning today at KidPak, which you can see a glimpse of here in the photo above.  I had Mom's costume on out during the break between services, with our little dinosaur raptor friend greeting the kids, along with the other characters too, of course.

But the dinosaur got everyone's attention, of course.  It's a great costume, and even though "Little Toot" didn't show up on stage this morning, I was sure to be out there with the cast and Maddie too, greeting all the kids and drumming up excitement about "The Lost World."  Nerdo named him "Little Toot," because, well... he's got this little digestive condition that... well... I think you get the drift.  Or, at least you can smell it...!

The skit went well, as Maddie was up there with all the other cast members advancing our story about a dinosaur park where things don't go exactly as planned.  That seems to be a prerequisite for dinosaur parks though, doesn't it?  Plans rarely go the way you'd expect.  Life finds a way!

We got home and had lunch together before yep, it was time to go right back to church again.  Maddie had youth tonight, the second of the series, "Friday Night Lights."  Simultaneously, she's been going to her first football games too.  This youth experience has her now in an upper grade level small group, so there are some new faces, but she's still enjoying it quite a bit.

We read tonight, and we wrapped up Kingdom Keepers book five, which ends with quite a cliffhanger.  I remember getting to this point last time, and of course at the end I had to wait until the next book was finished being written, edited and published before finding out what happens next.  For Maddie, she just has to wait until tomorrow.  Kids these days!  Anyway, she just has to wait until tomorrow night, when we'll obviously start on book six of the series.  It's a shorter book, which is to say it's not 500 pages.  But they read fairly quickly, and the pacing is fun.  Maddie is enjoying them, and I don't see us stopping this series until it is done, and that looks to be into next year some time.  Because there are at least six books left, if you include the novellas.

Tonight we prayed, and we got to bed early.  Maddie has school again tomorrow, and Mom and I have to go to the dentist in Alpharetta, where things are still crazy about that virus.  But them teeth's gotta' get cleaned, so we'll head down there, and get some other items while we're on the road.  We're going to try to set up that fire pit soon, unless the rain this week hampers us.  Anyway, it was a busy day at church, but a good one.
