Madison woke up this morning to find some penny and quarter books under her bed. These are books that you can use to collect pennies from different dates, and a quarter book for the quarters with national parks on them. The Tooth Fairy also left her some quarters to put in these booklets, so she had quite a haul last night!
Speaking of "quite a haul," today was our day to return home. We said our goodbyes this morning, walking outside in the chilly Florida weather. Yes, you read that right. It was upper 40's this morning, and that ocean breeze made it feel downright cold outside. We're so glad the cold weather waited until our last day!
On the way home, we had our usual stops. Here's Madison at the Georgia Welcome Center, seated on the couch with the Guardians of the Galaxy. She can't wait to see this next movie. She loves Rocket the most right now, although that changes from time to time.
We listened to a few things on the way home. One was the Riders on the Radio for a good bit on the way home, wrapping up another one of their podcasts about "missing ozone." It was a smooth journey, although there was some unexpected construction delays nearby Madison, Georgia. Go figure. We waited for a really long time there. I mean, wow.
But we did get home, and we were grateful not to be anywhere near Atlanta, considering the I-85 bridge collapse, and how much they're going through right now. Yikes. Incidentally, the date for the reopening of the bridge has been set for Madison's birthday! Yes, it'll be June 15th. A lot of people will be celebrating on that day!
We got home and played some "Finding Dory" on Disney Infinity, but it wasn't much later that we were reading, praying, and eventually going to sleep. It was a long day, but we arrived safely, and are quite thankful for that.
