School Picture 2016

Here it is, Madison's school picture for the year - this is the one that will go in the yearbook - which we've already paid for, by the way.  We used to wait until spring, but there's a substantial discount if you get it earlier.  So we're getting it earlier this year.

Today was a day for dancing, as always.  Madison was doing ballet and jazz at Brenau, while Mommy and Daddy were doing a bit of shopping at Wal-Mart and other places.  We spent a great deal of time working on organizing our old KidPak booklets today, trying to make sure we had copies of each series - both devotionals and sermon booklets.  Madison was helping organize them across the living room floor.  We don't have every series represented yet, but hopefully that will come to pass soon enough.  I'll have to dig to find a few others.

In the meantime, we're doing quite a bit of cleaning in the basement, pretty much getting rid of everything we can unload.  We had a virtual yard sale today, taking pictures of items and asking folks over the phone if they want this stuff.  Some of these items have great sentimental value from Madison's past, for example old DVDs of "Baby Einstein" or "Veggie Tales."  It's just that we don't watch them anymore, and another family with a younger toddler would benefit from this greatly.  That's what happened today:  we did some donations straight to the Free Chapel's nursery, although we held back a few of the Veggie Tales DVDs.  Still, it was quite a stack.  It's sort of depressing moving on:  gone are the days of Veggie Tales and toddler toys.

We did quite a bit of cleaning in the basement this morning, and there's no sign of slowing down.  The weather is ideal for clearing out things, and we're ready to do a lot of decluttering.

This is some of the filming that has been going on.  These are two of Daddy's action figures from a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.  We're filming a video for KPTV for this weekend, as the Star Wars series keeps on rolling.  It's been so good lately, and we're all very proud of it.

Tonight, the story of Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator continued too - and it's been fun.  It's very unusual, but it's also fun.  We have no idea where this story is going, which is sort of like the elevator passengers themselves, for the most part.

Anyway, it was a great day today, the temperature down somewhat from recent weeks - although still hot.  Despite the temperature, we're making plans for next weekend, for apples and corn mazes.  We'll see how that pans out, but it's already the middle of September, and we can't let too much time go by before striking out to Ellijay for some fresh apples!
