Voyage in Narnia

This morning we continued our series in Narnia, and here's a cast shot we took in between services.  You can see Maddie and the other students who go to Narnia in the middle there, but also there's Jadis, and Maugrim on the right.  And a wiggle-marsh and a faun there, along with a fox in the middle top.  In the middle, you can also see Mr. and Mrs. Beaver too, those great puppets that Mom dressed up.  And yes, a dwarf to the left.  It's me, and I think we've named my character "Shmebulock," or perhaps "Num Nums."

Anyway, it was a great service today, one with lots of movement and of course our bottom line that accompanies the story of "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader."  We're doing messages based on each novel, of course, and already we're drawing to a close - next week's message is based on "The Silver Chair," and the one after that will be based on "The Last Battle."  It's been an amazing series, and I can't believe we're pulling it off.  We have a super talented cast, of course, but Mom gets so much credit for creating these great costumes that help tell the story.

We got home after this, and the rest of the day was spent at home.  It was cold outside, around 26 degrees this morning.  We put boiling water from the teapot into the bird baths and water dishes in order to melt the ice there for the birds so they could have something to drink.  Mom had some pasta for us when we got home, and we were happy to have a restful afternoon.  We did watch a couple episodes of "The Chosen" tonight, and there was some homework to be done too.  We also played a lot of "Battlefront II" again, along with other video games, something we hadn't been able to do as much the last few years.  I got down the Star Wars tree today, so there's really just one Christmas tree left to go, and that should be taken care of tomorrow.

Tonight we started the book, "Sorcery," another Discworld book that features Rincewind.  Maddie requested another Rincewind story, which was backtracking a bit, as the last book we were reading, "Interesting Times," takes place later in the timeline for him.  So we're going back to read that one.  I haven't had much time to read elsewhere, but that too may start to happen soon - I was reading this book about Groundhog Day, somewhat of a self-help book that I picked up just because of the theme.

ANYWAY, we did get to do some reading tonight, and we stayed up later doing it - we can do that tonight because everyone gets to sleep in tomorrow.  It's a holiday!
