Maddie's done this track a few times now, so she knew how it would all go down. This was my first time here, as well as Uncle George. We had a big crowd, and a longer wait to get in for this one race, but it was pretty fun. One odd thing was that these were electric cars, and there really wasn't any noise to them at all, which is what I've known all may life with go-karts. I used to run a go-kart track, and I remember the oil and gas and air filters and loud noises and fees and ... well, this was different. In fact, we did that up in Pigeon Forge at an outdoor track, and it was a lot of fun. This was fun too, but it was indoors and somewhat difficult to see who you were racing against because of the helmets and the tight turns. It was all indoors and a few levels up and down again, where we'd pass by Mom who was waving back at us each lap. I wound up making a great pass about halfway in, and then breaking free from everyone, pretty much leaving the pack behind after that. But we all had fun - it was a great time.
Afterwards, it was our appointed time to go bowling. I actually got my first strike and spare with duck pin bowling tonight. The ball is so small, as are the pins, so you just don't know what's going to happen, even if it is straight down the middle. Nevertheless, it was fun. We did that for an hour, and it was Maddie's first time with that sort of bowling. She did great though!
And yes, after that, we went to eat Chinese. The restaurant was much, much less crowded than at Christmas Eve, which is ironic given that it is the Lunar New Year. We had a big dinner, sharing entrees and getting full rather quickly. We got home after that, and yeah, we were wiped out. Time for some sleep. Tomorrow we have a big day at church, but today was a big day too. Maddie had Team Edge practice for a few hours earlier, and we even sat down to watch "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" for research purposes, of course. Tonight, we read from "Sorcery," and that story is really moving along towards its big finish. No doubt we'll probably continue on with the next book in the Rincewind series, but we'll see. Anyway, we said our prayers and got to sleep tonight a little exhausted and a little earlier.
