Big Day

It was a new series for Free Chapel Youth tonight, and that's a good point to start on what seems like a very ordinary day.  It was far from an ordinary day for us though, but at least from Maddie's standpoint, things were as typical as they could get for a school day that leads into a nice Wednesday night service.  It is during the fast, so things have a different flavor around here, so to speak.  There was a worship service, and a good message - although not much in the way of food, of course.  It was a great evening, yes.

Elsewhere, things were more dynamic.  At 11:45am, Nana went off with the social worker to visit the Braselton facility probably one final time, and it was there that she met a nurse last week, one who told her if things have not improved, she'd likely be going to a hospital.  Indeed, she was 120 pounds and still filled with quite a bit of anxiety and depression of the deepest sort.  She sleeps on and off all day, retreating to her room when there is nothing for her to do, all of this chronicled here.  The tough love had to come today as she would not take medicine voluntarily and has been losing weight each week.  The unfortunate side of things was her admittance to the ER took twelve and a half hours.  Yes, she was in the waiting room for twelve and a half hours.  That's sitting in the waiting room chair there, waiting from 2pm to 2:30 am.  We were up the entire time too, waiting for news.  The bad part was the anxiety kicking in at 2:30, when she got into her room.  Nana had two police officers hold her down, carry her to her room, and wait for a nurse to give her a shot to sedate her.  Rough, rough day.

We'll feel guilt, but we know it's the right thing to do.  She's just not getting any better here, not taking medicine and not eating that much at all, despite our best efforts.  We had no choice.  At one point, we imagined setting up the basement and getting the walls done and setting up a place for her to live, but that all fell by the wayside.

Anyway, that was today.  It's late tonight.  We did read tonight, and we said our prayers of course.  Mom and I stayed up pretty late though, finally getting to sleep somewhere around 3am.
