Implications

Tonight was Maddie's first FCY of the year, and it was good to see a decent amount of people there.  One draw was a celebration atmosphere, complete with a nerf gun battle arena and an ice cream truck!  Maddie didn't dive into the nerf gun, and she couldn't do the ice cream truck.  She had a great time, hanging out with friends after the service.  But tomorrow is the first day back at school, so we left right on time, and got back home quickly.  We didn't have enough time to watch much at home, but we did watch an episode of "The Bad Batch" because the new season debuts this week, and we've got to be ready.  We're almost done with all the episodes for season one, so we'll be ready to gear up!

It was a rainy day.  It was also a super eventful day in Braselton, where a nurse was actually able to see Nana for a bit.  This was the first medical visit in some time, as the last time Nana threatened to sue any doctor or nurse who got near her, all while declaring her citizenship of the United Kingdom and promising to see the British consulate if anybody tried to pull anything.  So this nurse visitation was a bait-and-switch of sorts, as the premise of the visit was to tour another facility, or at least return to one.  She didn't like this one as much, still, despite the fact that we think this one might be better.  Still, what she wants is more in line with the one in Dawsonville, which is fine too.  Whatever makes her happier.  Both have their advantages.  But the point of today was the nurse visit.  It was super emotional, and there was a lot of crying.  There is now a prescription that we'll need to be attempting to get Nana to take to help with that, and there is a follow-up visit.  Nana does not want medication, as she's explained, she sees what happens when people take that.  So therefore, we'll have to do our best.

There are very huge implications for today's meeting, and those may be described in the future.  It was a monumental day though. I think it will be helpful for everyone involved, certainly in regards to getting medication involved.  But beyond that, there are further things that could happen next week that will change our family dynamic quite a bit.

We're moving forward in life.  School is back and we continued our reading tonight with a visit to the Counterweight Continent.  It's been fun reading "Interesting Times," and the original intent was not to read something somewhat based on the lands in the Far East, but nevertheless here we are, reading about the Agatean Empire in the Discworld, just a few weeks before the Chinese New Year.

We got to sleep a little earlier today.  It was a good holiday break, and we're moving forward into 2023 with a little hope that things will in fact really actually get better!
