Narnia Business

We returned to the theater this afternoon, and it was so nice to return to a tradition of ours in October, seeing a play at the Pearce Auditorium at Brenau.  These family plays have always been fun to see with Maddie - we got our seats there in the front of the balcony, the same seats we've been sitting in for years.  And the production is about an hour long, a short one like it usually is.  The costumes are great and the play was enjoyable - they managed to do a great job telling the story.  Maugrim's character was actually a comic villain, and some of the casting was spot on, particularly for Aslan and Edmund.  The White Queen was wonderfully over-the-top, and her dwarf henchman was a lot of fun.

It was a great production!  We've been to see so many of these October shows at the Pearce Auditorium over the years.  There was Alice in Wonderland in 2013.  Sleeping Beauty in 2014.  Pecos Bill in 2015.  There was Mermaid Song in 2016.  The Jungle Book in 2017.  Sophie and the Pirates in 2018.  Those are just a few of the dates.  And each time, we'd go on the date where there is an ice cream social afterwards.  In the courtyard area, all the cast members are out there signing programs and meeting with the audience, and of course there's ice cream.  Today was no different - we had our ice cream and went around meeting the different characters in their places there.  You can see some of the pictures of that below.

Everyone enjoying a nice afternoon with ice cream.

It was a nice time - we were glad to be back.  We got home and Mom made us some dinner, although Maddie had something from Wendy's on the way over to the theater.  We got there early and waited in the lobby for the show to begin.  There's always an interesting art exhibit there from a student, and today's artwork was a little ... different, we'll say.

I'm still walking in Egypt, over at the Luxor Temple area, and learning quite a bit there as I walk along.  This is a good series because we're learning so much along the way, as we walk.

This morning we had a good final service of our Star Wars themed series, and Maddie did really well on stage.  It's been a fun series - very laid back, versus the usual hyper planning.

We were still working n the Christmas production somewhat this morning too, so we've been working quite a bit on that lately.  Maddie's been fun on stage for this series though, along with her other actor friends.

Tonight we watched "Scooby Doo" and then an episode of "Monk," basically because everyone was in the mood for mystery!  After that, we were ready for bed, heading up for some more reading from "A Hat Full of Sky," which we started yesterday.  And then after that, prayers... and fast asleep.
