Maddie had FCY tonight while we were at practice - that's the new pattern for a few months here. But Maddie enjoyed the service tonight, part of a series called "Host the Ghost," which of course refers to the HOLY Ghost, versus some of the other ghosts you may hear about this time of year. You can see her above after service, hanging out and waiting for me to arrive.
We had all kinds of meetings today, and it was a little stressful to be honest. Lots of plans upcoming, and lots of things to work out. We'll get there and the thing I have to remind myself about is this: DO NOT WORRY.
And speaking of which, there's been a bit to worry about in this world. Once again, there is unrest in the Mideast. There were atrocities on a whole new level, real Nazi-type stuff here, and done on such a mass scale that repercussions are inevitable. And rather than distance themselves from what has been done, many are actually aligning themselves with the pure evil that has been done. This is puzzling of course, but it is encouraging to see our leaders, the ones usually not prone to support the same viewpoint as us, actually agreeing that this was in fact a horrific thing that was done, trust has been shattered, and something dramatic needs to happen immediately.
It is Divine Providence that arranged our series at Free Chapel this month, a few weeks dedicated to prophecy in the Bible. In fact, one of our favorite speakers is coming later on, Perry Stone. Mom and I will get to hear him a Sunday afternoon a few weeks from now. But the timing of all of this is wild. There are many thoughts about "knowing the seasons" and seeing how things may be in fact wrapping up in this world. Of course, I remember thinking that many times before in my life. My first thoughts of things being that serious go back to 1990, and a few times afterwards. I have an imprint of a full moon hanging over the sky just days before Desert Storm became a story, and then we all moved on from there to the next crisis. Still, we must be ready, while continuing to live life at the same time. It gets closer every day.
I got these pictures from Maddie today, looking through her microscope during her Forensics class. She's definitely enjoying class. This above might be microscopic trace evidence of some heinous crime, perhaps. Or, it could be a hair left in someone's cream of mushroom soup. Close analysis will reveal which kitchen employee failed to properly wear a hair net!
It was later when we got home of course. But we did spend some time watching "Monk" before reading, and then before prayers.
