So we started our brand-new series "Extraordinary Tales from the Bible" today. It has a really long title, and it's only a month long. But it started out very, very strong today with a message about Lazarus. You can see Maddie above, and you'll see others below dressed in khaki and wearing pith helmets or fedoras. We added some pottery to the stage, some items Mom found, and we have a sort of Ripley's Believe it or Not! vibe going on. In fact, one of the games we did today was based on that, where there were two facts on the screen, and the kids had to guess which one was real and which was not!
We then went to a game where teams of volunteers wrapped someone up in toilet paper, a race to see who could make a Lazarus mummy the quickest and best. Maddie and I came out later to wrap up another volunteer so that we could talk more about Lazarus.
"The dead man came out. His hands and feet were wrapped with strips of linen. A cloth was around his face." John 11:44 NIRV
It was a solid start to the day. The new books look great with the new artwork done on them by one of our college students, and I was really proud of everyone today. Mom took these pictures below and they came out well!
The rest of the day was absolutely a day of rest. We watched a few movies, and Maddie did her homework while Mom got a bath and I was doing my walking in Egypt on the treadmill. I've kept that up every day, and things are going well there. Building up and getting faster and farther.
It was a good day though. The birds are more frequent in their visits to the back deck, as the weather is getting cooler outside. We keep the seeds out there, and inside, we keep the sea moneys happy. I have five or six solid residents of the Martian tank, and they're doing well.
Tonight we read for a bit from "A Hat Full of Sky," and then it was time for an early night. We had a big weekend!
