It's been pretty busy season with two major Christmas productions and the regular series stuff going on as well. We're trying to keep up, but it gets a little overwhelming at times. The Grinch script is over twenty pages at this point, and still climbing. The other script is coming along too. Mom is working on costumes all the time, shopping at stores or online, looking for props too. She got things ready for this weekend with our new series "Extraordinary Tales from the Bible." The spirit of the series is somewhat like "Ripley's Believe it or Not!" So we actually came up with a game for this weekend for our audience, one where there are two facts on the screen and the kids in the audience have to decide which one to believe, and which one to not! Maddie and I were looking through some real examples from a "Ripley's Believe it or Not!" boardgame, the two of us going through all of these cards, one after the other, reading all the examples and marveling at some of the extraordinary things people have done, or amazing things that have happened. We're throwing in quite a few Biblical examples for the game, mixing all that together for a fun sequence. As we're also talking about Lazarus this weekend, another game we'll be doing is a "wrapping" game where kids will wrap up their guy or girl adult volunteer somewhat like a mummy, of course leading into the whole bit about how Lazarus emerged from that tomb with the linen all around him.
Speaking of Mummies, I'm still walking in Egypt on this iFit tour, which has been really great. We were walking through Luxor, and by this weekend we'll be visiting with King Tut. I've managed to keep this up every day, so that's been great.
Maddie was dressed up for team spirit today, wearing her Broncos shirt. She was there for the school parade today, and even got some beads that have the team colors there (orange). She'll be going to the game this Friday, with me too of course. It'll be my first football game of the year!
Tonight we watched "Scooby Doo 2," as we watched the first movie earlier this week. We love this one and the earlier one. Maddie and I crack up at Daphne's great comeback earlier in the movie...
"Hey! Shut up!" The joke of course is that this is not a great comeback at all. Made even better when Shaggy says, "Good one," right afterwards. Anyway, this movie (and the first one) have so many hilarious lines in them. It's probably just me, but I think this movie is just so much fun. We don't miss it each October, mainly because I make sure everyone has to watch it.
Anyway, tonight we read after that, moving forward with Tiffany Aching's adventures, and the Wee Free Men too. We read, and then we prayed. And then we slept.
