Gift of Kindness

Maddie had FCY tonight, and Tytus was up there on stage sharing the message for the night when he began talking about different gifts that people have.  And sure enough, he called out Maddie in the audience, telling everyone about her gift of kindness.  It was really a nice moment for her!  How fantastic that I was just telling her that same thing over the computer earlier in the day when I called up she and mom.  I used those exact words:  a gift of kindness.

We were doing play practice tonight, of course.  It was a little crazy with so many kids up there, but we got through it all pretty well, getting things together until the end.  It's a little transportation dance at night - getting over to drop Maddie off and back to practice and then picking her up afterwards.  But we're making it all work.  It's worth it for Maddie to be at FCY, and nice to hear that she was acknowledged.  Others were too, but right there in the midst of the shoutouts was Maddie's name too.

We watched our KidPak Costume Party video again, part of our yearly tradition here at Halloween time.  This is the video we did a few years ago with Putnam, who sneaks around throwing pies at people, picking off KidPak volunteers one at a time.  It was really fun to film, and it's still hilarious to me.

Maddie has tomorrow off - or at least it is a "virtual" day tomorrow.  No sleeping in though, as we have a dentist appointment for her in the morning.  Tonight we read from our book, and we prayed as always... we were tired, or at least I was!
