We went to go see "Beauty and the Beast Junior" this afternoon, and it was a surprise for one of the cast members who didn't know Maddie was coming. The three you see above are a part of Maddie's small group that she's been doing with Camille. Camille actually went last night, and since Maddie had taekwondo last night, we opted to attend today. It turns out that Mom and Nana wanted to go too, just to get out of the house. And you know something? The performance was pretty good. Gaston didn't sing, but the guy who played Beast was actually better than the one who did the role in the GTA production we attended some time ago. I was just thinking of all the times we've seen this production, both
at the Fox Theater, or with the
Gainesville Ballet, and with the
GTA in Gainesville as well. We've seen it at Disney, in the theaters, and on the television screens too - it's a tale as old as time!
Maddie sat with friends and caught up with one of the Silly Girls on stage. That's the name given to the three girls who are so infatuated with the character of Gaston. Camille was laughing because this girl above played the same exact Silly Girl that she herself did a few years ago.
The play was nice, and the rest of the day was pleasant too. I started early, helping out at another church event, Divine. But getting home, there was yard work to be done, mulch to get and the usual fixing up of our back yard that seems to preoccupy our time lately. We were preparing for tomorrow's service as well, and also continuing our race through season five of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."
It was a good day today, and tomorrow's a big one. So we read tonight, and we said our prayers, and were off to sleep rather quickly.
