Astromechs de Cinco de Mayo

Today is Cinco de Mayo, and that's why we put the pause on Taco Tuesday in order to have a ginormous Mexican feast tonight at dinner.  Mom does such a fantastic job with dinner, and tonight was so good.  We had all kinds of goodies tonight, a huge amount of food that I demonstrated little self-control about.  We put on some Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass records, brought up the sombreros and had ourselves a delicious dinner.

I made a game tonight for Maddie's small group, and it's one where I actually went out on the back deck and took a picture of three of our astromechs.  You can see R5-D4, H2-D2, and R2-D2 above.  H2-D2 is an astromech that Maddie got back a few years ago at Hollywood Studios, one that had an optional hat - she chose a sombrero.  So she's had H2-D2 for several years now, and today of course is a good opportunity to use him as the star of a game.  The girls had three bottles of hot sauce on the screen, and the three astromechs above were behind them.  They had to find the bottle that had H2-D2 behind it.

It was a nice day today.  Maddie had testing this morning, which wasn't nice.  I had to be at Hebron Christian Academy a little early this morning, and that was super fun.  The KidPak gang were down there to lead chapel, and after that head over to our yearly visit to the Waffle House there.  It's a tradition to play Elvis on the jukebox there while eating Waffle House food.  Later on, we went to yet another school to do another service after school, so it was a busy day.

I got home in time for dinner, and then we went to taekwondo after that for leadership class.  Like I said, a full day.  We got back and watched something on television - of course it had to be "The Three Amigos."  I just need to put it out there again that this is one of my favorite comedies of all time.  I still laugh at this one, and was still laughing at it tonight.  I love this movie.

We spent time reading tonight, and yes, tomorrow we get to sleep in.  That said, we read a little bit more tonight, and then said our prayers.  We got up early this morning, so we were still a bit tired and slept easy tonight.  Tomorrow will be a nice day.
