KidPak and Molkky

Today was KidPak, of course, and it was one of those services that went so much better than we anticipated.  The Spy Kids did so well with the skit on stage, and you can see Perry here, as well as our friend Daniel as a secret agent.  We had a lot of room for improv and fun, and that's exactly what happened - it was super fun this morning.  Maddie took a few pictures backstage just for fun, and those are pretty much the only photos from this morning (other than this one above of Perry the Platypus)!

Agent Daniel becomes Agent Samson with the addition of a large black standard wig.  And here's Nia below holding on to the baby doll we were using around Christmas time.

One funny moment happened at the end with Camille, who was super tired.  She fell asleep in the office, so Maddie tucked her in with a blanket and a pillow, and then we set up a ten-hour long video of Mario sleeping beside a piranha plant, with the piranha plant lullaby playing over and over again.

And then we left!  We went over to the grocery store afterwards, and started wondering if she would actually wake up, so Maddie texted her - and sure enough, she eventually awoke!  It must have been fun listening to that lullaby music and seeing Mario there.

Anyway, we got a few things at the grocery store, and then we went right home to grab a bite to eat.  Mom had dinner made up for us, spaghetti and these new meatballs that tasted really good.  Afterwards, Maddie got a shower, while I sat down on the couch to watch the new Rescue Rangers movie, which was actually pretty fun.

It was supposed to rain here, and although the rain was everywhere else, once again it missed us tonight, so I was out there watering the plants to make sure everyone that was thirsty got a drink.  But after that, Maddie played some outdoor games for a while.  We started out with our corn hole game, one that ended in a victory for me and one victory for Maddie.  That was fun and quick, but the epic battle came when we returned to another game we haven't played in a while:  Molkky!

We set up the Molkky pins out in the back yard there, and the first game we played didn't take too long because of an epic shot Maddie made, launching the throwing pin right into the midst of a bunch of wooden pins with numbers and yet only hitting the one with a 10 on it, which was exactly the one she needed for victory!  It was a crazy good shot!  The next game we played, however, went on and on and on!  We just kept missing those smaller targets, hitting the wrong ones and resetting our score to 25 time and again.  We're not experts, by the way.  But anyway, it was crazy, and it just kept going on and on and on, with pins going everywhere and the sun starting to go down.  Eventually, I got a really lucky hit, knocking down a six and a one together to get the win.  It came down to a tie, each of us winning a round, and probably leading us to play some more as time goes on.  It was fun.

We watched a few episodes of "The Mysterious Benedict Society" tonight, and after that read from the book of the same name.  We said our prayers, and soon after that it was time to get some rest.  Good news is that we get to sleep in tomorrow - everyone's super excited about that.
