Agents of Boba

How funny that tonight's episodes of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." featured so many references to boba tea.  Maddie's been pretty obsessed with it lately, so it was pretty funny.  Of course, the character named Sequoia was a hilarious parody of a lot of millennials, and her obsession with boba tea was somewhat similar to Maddie's.

So our chipmunk survived, and that's good news.  Mom had found the cat with the chipmunk in its mouth, and so she chased and corned that cat until the chipmunk was released, scampering off somewhere to safety.  The cat will not be safe if it shows up in our yard anymore.  I've just purchased the hose connector, and so both garden hoses are locked and loaded, ready for firing off at any moment.

Anyway, the chipmunk was not showing up yesterday at the bowl of seed, and we were worried about him of course.  But today, we saw him a few times, back up on the deck and grabbing as many seeds as he could like always.  We were all pretty excited to see him up there though.

The weather is warming up outside, and in fact it will be a little too warm later on this week.  But right now, it's perfect.  We have a new floor mat on the front porch that makes everything nice and cozy up there.  On the back deck, our pumpkin sprouts are really taking off - we have to get them in the ground soon.  We're getting ready the garden area against the house, getting soil and getting out there to find tomato plants and maybe some pepper plants.  And of course there's mulch too.

Maddie had a test today at school, and I picked her up early when she was done.  It was a relaxing day the rest of the day, although we were out getting a few things.  Tonight we were watching Agents of Boba, and after that, it was back to reading again.  We met Constance Contrary, our favorite character in the book, and things are really moving forward in "The Mysterious Benedict Society."  We're enjoying the read.

I have these Rubik's cubes on my night stand, and Maddie messes one up each night, and each night I get to solve it.  Ah, to be able to do that now is thrilling.  She brings all the plush friends to story time too, and we all sit down together to hear the story - Mom is with us as well, right there with Putnam, Chuck, Poop Emoji, a rubber chicken and a few others too.  Then, after reading, it's time for tucking in, and time for rest.  We get to sleep in tomorrow, as Maddie has a "virtual" day.  It's a great feeling going to bed knowing you can sleep in, right?
