We did some more grocery shopping today, and I keep picking up boxes of instant pudding each visit, unbeknownst to the fact that we aren't really running low on pudding, and in fact when I got home to put the pudding into the pantry, I realized that we had well over fifteen boxes of pudding in there. We actually have more chocolate pudding in our pantry than the grocery store does!
We're picking up odd items here and there from this grocery store, because they're available. I've been munching on these Norwegian crackers, and there are always a few different kinds of cheeses I've not heard of before. We get cookies and chocolates for Nana, and we just had some of those pineberries with cake yesterday. We're getting normal things too, but I couldn't resist some Indian foods and some variations of corn to try out too. Variety is the spice of life. We finally tried out the bottle of soda I got from the soda shop the week before Easter - I got several flavors, including the Monkees soda (banana nut flavor). But one flavor for Maddie was "buffalo wing soda."
I don't know if we were more relieved or disappointed that this did not taste like actual carbonated buffalo wing soda. The three of us poured ourselves small glasses of this from bottle, ready to sample it all at the same time, bravely putting on our game faces... and then taking a taste. It's at that point that we realized it was more like a vanilla or orange mix, and really tasted pretty good. But it throws you off because of the label, which makes you keep imagining some spicy chicken flavor in there too. Anyway, we did that flavor, and I have probably one more to try in a bit - I have some sarsaparilla downstairs in the basement that I forgot to bring up to try. I love sarsaparilla. It's just hard to spell!
Tonight Maddie had her taekwondo while we were shopping, and we got back early enough to watch her work on form, and it was right about then that we realized that Maddie actually has a testing coming up next week. Yeah, she's going to be testing and will be about halfway through her first degree black belt, with about another year or so to go before she gets a second degree black belt. Wow.
We got back home and we started season seven of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." This is one of our favorite seasons, with time travel and such crazy stories along the way. It's super fun, and the costumes are fantastic. The only miss was Agent Carter, who we were hoping to show up along the way. We're still happy to have Daniel Sousa though, and marveling at how all that turned out. Fun story.
Speaking of which, we were reading again tonight from "The Mysterious Benedict Society," about Milligan and his limited memory. So far, the story is just like the television series. So far. Maddie has already read this book and says there's an upcoming diversion. We'll find out shortly.
After prayers, it was time for bed. We fell asleep pretty quickly tonight.
