So Many Candidates

Primary season comes along and there are just so many candidates to sift through for each position.  We've mentioned the numerous signs out there all along the road and everywhere else.  There are phone calls too, and every day we get a few large-sized campaign ads in our mailbox, and we keep all these together for the big moment where I have to use them and the internet to go through all the data of these candidates.  For example, HD28 has eight different people running for that position of Georgia State Represenative.  We've gotten about three mailers from one candidate, two from another, and all over the place you can find signs everywhere for most of them.  I've been online looking up each one, checking out and comparing positions on various issues.  Given that it is a primary, they all largely say the same thing and take the same positions, so you sort of have to look deeper at different things like experience or articulate answers about specific plans.  It's quite an endeavor!

Today we got to sleep in, and that's great.  Maddie had a virtual day at school, although she's got two big tests this week.  She was studying a lot, working hard while taking breaks to watch things or talk with friends.

We had taekwondo tonight, and she was there with her fellow students training while the rest of us were going out for pizza and mulch.  We've been working on that back yard quite a bit lately, blowing leaves, putting down mulch, planting new bushes and plants, and trying not to disturb the baby bluebirds.  We're not sure how many, but clearly there are several inside the church birdhouse.  Mom and Dad bluebird make frequent trips up and then down again from our bird feeder to that birdhouse, taking care of all the kids.

This morning Mom had the skillet out at the center of the kitchen table, filled with breakfast items.  It's such a great look for breakfast, and it tastes good too!  We were enjoying a nice moment together, and after that we were off doing some more shopping in Dawsonville for groceries and other items, plus more mulch.  It's mulch season!  We stopped by for some boba tea over there, but Maddie didn't think it was all that great.  There are different flavors and places, and not all are winners.  We'll make it up later!

Tonight we were reading and we were praying too.  Maddie's got a test in the morning, earlier, so we got to bed at a good time.  Maddie's disciplined about getting herself enough rest, and was up there right on time.  Not a bad idea for the rest of us too!
