Tonight we saw the tale as old as time once again, back at Pearce Auditorium to see "Beauty and the Beast," this time performed by the Gainesville Ballet Company. This was pretty loosely based on the story Disney told, as you can see by the costumes in the picture above.
We had our usual seats up there in the front row of the balcony, and enjoyed the performance very much. Daddy had the soundtrack playing on the way to the show, although there were many other musical pieces used throughout the production. There wasn't a big "Be Our Guest" number or any song about Gaston, but there were a lot of dancing bakers, librarians, tea cups, and there were some dances with wolves (sans Kevin Costner).
Anyway, everyone enjoyed the show, although we're getting home pretty late tonight. We had to stop by Wal-Mart to get some more corned beef for tomorrow's festivities, and some bread too.
Earlier in the day, it was all work for Daddy, who was making up the service for Sunday - it should be a fun one, actually. You'll just have to read about it here though! Meanwhile, Madison got her report card, and it was just great. She does so well in school, getting great marks in all areas, and improving with her speech as well. Her reward? She wanted more wrestlers, she said. So Daddy added two more to the collection, and now she has four Vinylmation wrestlers. These things are turning out to be pretty handy! Currently, Madison has one for each of her four wooden monster trucks, each one resting on a monster truck like it were a bed. They're all lined up on her dresser, keeping her company...!
