Today is Good Friday, and as you can see above, we were blessed to be able to go to service today. We brought Nana along and enjoyed a service together. Madison was at school, of course, so she wasn't able to go to the noon service with us. She had some good test grades from today and yesterday. No word on her math test quite yet, but the others she did super great on.
Friday has become a big television night, with three programs on showing new episodes each Friday. We're hooked on "Falcon and the Winter Soldier," plus "Secrets of Sulphur Springs" and "Mighty Ducks: Game Changers." We sat together to watch all three of those, once we got back from black belt class.
She's enjoying that, of course. Her friends are there in class, right along with those who doesn't know quite as well. One boy that she was sparring last week faced off against her again this week. He's much more advanced, and last week had got Madison pretty good on the head. Madison was a little fearful sparring against him this week, but she surprised him with a good kick to the head to start things off. She's doing great in class, and really enjoying it too.
It was a super rough day for Nana today. We've had a lot of those lately, where she won't eat what Mom spends time preparing, and just wants to sit there and cry, or go upstairs and cry. The whole house can hear it, and it just goes on and on and on. Seven months later, every single day, all day long. We have moments where all is well, when she's talking with others or when she's more active doing something or watching television. But the moment there's nothing going on, she resets to her default mode, which is utter grief. It's hard, because it's bringing the rest of us down. Madison can be funny, overcompensating with a loud, "Hello Nana!" She'll insist on high-fives and blurt out, "How are you doing!?" It's ridiculous, but it's also effective.
It's been rough though. We said our prayers tonight, and we did all our reading as well. It was a Good Friday.
