Pumpkins

We had another big day today, this one starting out as all Sundays do at church.  We had a new episode of our ongoing adventure drama at KidPak, one where our hero uses his trusty bullwhip to fend off some henchmen.  There's an ongoing chase sequence that worked out really well, and another funny line from Maddie, although everyone had a really solid part this morning.  It's been a fun ongoing story, and of course the overall message was really good too.

After getting home, we all had a nice big bowl of spaghetti, and after that we were out the door because the weather outside was too gorgeous - and also Maddie's schedule is so busy lately that we haven't had a chance to go to Burt's Pumpkin Farm yet.

And so we made the drive over there again, and got to enjoy the ride a bit, seeing the fall leaves and listening to the fall music as always.  We got to Burt's, and the place was slammed.  By day's end, I believe there were just as many people there as there were pumpkins, and I don't think I'm exaggerating.  We had to park in an alternate parking lot, and we there were lines and lines of people for the hayride, for snacks, and for whatever else there was to do there.  The place was crawling with customers, and that had to make the owners happy.  Pumpkin prices all over are going up - as are prices for everything else - but we're happy to support farms and places like this.  It wasn't the quiet visit to the vast sea of pumpkins that we're used to, but it was still an enjoyable trip.  Maddie got herself a big pumpkin, and I found one that I love.  Here below are just a few pictures from our trip to Burt's Pumpkin Farm.  The pictures of the pumpkins were actually taken by Maddie, who borrowed the camera to go about and use her artistic eyes to snap a few photos.

It was a nice pleasant trip, and afterwards we returned home to relax the rest of the day.  It was so beautiful outside that we were out there on the back deck, relaxing, talking, doing our puzzles, doing homework, and so on.  Eventually we went in to watch a few things on the television, and after that, it was time for reading and prayers too.  It was a nice day - and a busy one too.  But we have our pumpkins, and some nice memories too.
