The Styrofoam Bowl

I got some pictures of the football game tonight, the last home game of the season.  There were considerably less people in the crowd than last weekend, which was of course Homecoming.  But the weather was just perfect for a high school football game.

It started out close, but beyond that, it didn't go so well.  At least we scored six.  The end score was another blow-out, but this time the opposite of last week's score where we just kept scoring.  It was a cooler night tonight, and not as many folks were there in the stadium.

This will grow over time, as for one thing there aren't any seniors here at the school this year.

Here's a photo of half-time when the East Forsyth Marching Band went out on the field.  You can see Madison and her friend in the stadium about halfway up and to the right.

This was a successful pass - we were able to get down the field...

...and we were able to get close to the end zone.  But we just couldn't score here.  It's okay - it's the first year, and we have no seniors, and there are all kinds of handicaps in place.  But to quote Scar, I see "a glimmer of potential" with the team, particularly some talented players.  We'll get there eventually.  It's been great to see these home games during the inaugural season.

The decorations are going up in our neighborhood, including a nice inflatable pumpkin display and the various scarecrows.  One neighbor always has a group of skeletons climbing the house or doing some mischief out front alongside the house.  This year, two of those skeletons are trapped in cages, suspended from a small balcony.  There are tombstones popping up in front yards, although the joro spiders are providing enough webbing on everything.

It was a good day today, another full one.  We had taekwondo tonight, of course, two classes that Maddie enjoyed.  I was with Nana doing some grocery shopping while Maddie was kicking people.  We were getting all kinds of goodies for tomorrow's party, although there was an obvious lack of styrofoam bowls out there.  We went to three different locations before we actually found someone who had any.  I know there's a shipping problem right now, and some of the items that suddenly turn up missing are so random.

Anyway, we were working well today, getting things done for KidPak and Youth.  Lots going on lately for both.  Mom makes me some delicious lunches that I enjoy while at work, these amazing salads and meals that make everyone else jealous.

We finished Kingdom Keepers book six tonight, and it was a bit of a shocking ending, and certainly a hook that makes the reader need to continue on with the series to read the next book and see what happens next.  It really is a "dark passage," this book containing quite a few darker elements for older readers like Maddie.  She's enjoying it, and of course we'll move on to the next book immediately.  I have the entire collection, including the novella that comes next.

We said our prayers tonight, and we were off to bed not long after that.  We can sleep in a bit tomorrow, but once we all wake up, we'll hit the ground running, going to Team Edge and preparing for a big, big day.
