We celebrated Mad Hatter Day tonight in a fun way this evening with a tea party Mom set up for us when I got home from work. We even dressed up for the occasion!
I had my Wonderland t-shirt on from our KidPak series, plus a pair of Mad Hatter socks believe it or not. Oh yeah, and that hat that Mom made for our KidPak series some time ago. Wow, that was eleven years ago...! Anyway, Maddie wore her Alice outfit again, just for fun.
She said this may be the last year this outfit fits her, but I'm glad she kept it around. We had the 1951 "Alice in Wonderland" playing in the background while the four of us shared tea and some dessert items. This continued a theme that was going on with Maddie's small group night tonight. Camille was hosting again, and I had a few mini-games made up for the girls, all related to "Mad Hatter Day."
There was a memory game with the Queen of Hearts and her royal card army, and this guessing game with the Mad Hatter too:
Also, there was trivia from the stories too:
Tonight's feature movie was the 2010 "Alice in Wonderland," which made me want to watch the sequel perhaps later this week. Maddie was doing some homework, so she missed a bit of that movie, but she's seen it before a few times, and actually likes it a lot. We may catch it again later. But afterwards, we were reading our continuing story, and saying our prayers before bedtime.
It was a good day today at school and work. One could say it was just our cup of tea!
