Smashing Pumpkins

Above you can see what became of Maddie's pumpkin this afternoon, something pretty fun for all involved.  We went and got about seven pumpkins from the grocery store, and given that our carved pumpkins were starting to fade, we brought them in as well to give them a farewell toss.

This was the Alligator Loki taking flight, and hitting the target too!  This afternoon we filmed a KidPak game, heading up on the roof to toss all these pumpkins at the targets down below.  Who would win this epic contest?  Everyone who loves watching pumpkins splat in slow motion will enjoy watching this one.  I was part of the crew on top of the roof, while Josh was down below, part of the impact crew.

Today we were finding Neverland, or at least starting to really focus on putting this series together at KidPak.  We're doing a good bit of writing.  We had piano tonight, although it will probably be one of Maddie's last piano classes.  She's been going to piano at Funderful World of Music since June of 2010 in one way or another, the last few years just going to a private class.  But the last year or so, she just doesn't really want to play the piano that much, and it's been a struggle to get her to practice.  So next week is the last class, ending that run on a somewhat sad note for me.  In fact there's been quite a bit of those sad notes lately, but that's life.

Tonight we were watching the classic Disney cartoon based on "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," but after that I put on a video of a production that Mom and I really enjoyed, a play based on "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" put on by a college in Minnesota.  It was really well done, and of course this time of year, a pretty fun thing to put on before bedtime.

We did our reading before bedtime, and we said our prayers after that.  It's been a fun month, and we're managing to get in some of those fun seasonal things we like to do.  Halloween is still a week away, and there's still some fun to be had.
