Josh's family had a lot of mushrooms that were for folks in the office, and since everyone forgot, Josh gave them all to us. His parents grow these, some shiitake mushrooms and some cremini mushrooms. I had to look up the spelling on both of those. Anyway, Mom took some of the mushrooms tonight and immediately made a shrimp pasta with sliced mushrooms on top, and it was delicious. I like mushrooms a lot, and was pretty happy to hear about a mushroom soup and other ideas that are upcoming.
Today we were filming a typical horror movie at KidPak, although instead of characters being killed off one after the next, our staff is being hit with cream pies, one after the other. The culprit? It's Putnam, Maddie's stuffed animal, which has suddenly become an iconic part of the KidPak experience. This film appearance will cement that. But previously, he's been a part of several skits on stage. He's a very unusual stuffed alien, one I'm not sure I've ever seen elsewhere. Maddie has Putnam with us each night when I'm reading different chapters in the book before bed. Tonight, Grogu was replacing Putnam, at least for the night, as Putnam was at church still.
Camille's online small group actually is broadcast from the church, and in fact from my office. So yes, she was able to show Maddie that Putnam was there at the church in my office. He said hi.
The small group went well, as always. Camille was talking about phobias at first, with us doing the typical game where the girls had to guess what these long words meant: what is arachibutyrophobia? Or coulrophobia? Or hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia? There were multiple choice answers to help the kids have a chance. I'm not sure who won yet, but I do know the girls have a great time with the small group. Recently, one of those girls came to visit us at KidPak Sunday to inquire about being an actress on stage. We'll try to work her in soon, as this is something I think she'll really enjoy.
We read tonight, as I mentioned, and we said our prayers afterwards. It was a nice day today. We did a lot of filming today, and that end product I think is going to be great. There's a lot of flying pies.
Tonight's movie was a return to "Phantom of the Megaplex," which we saw a few years ago for research before a Summer Xtreme skit series. It's still a fun movie, and certainly one you could watch around this season. In fact, it was a part of an online streaming seasonal collection. We're tearing through our seasonal movies, and really only have a few left to watch. Then it's time to do some Christmas movies!
