KidPak Online

We had service this morning, and it was again a unique moment.  Our entire church was online, watching from home as an online campus.  Pastor was talking from his home, and all of us were watching together from our living rooms.  You can see Madison and Mommy watching together from the couch.

This morning, Pastor led everyone in Communion, which is something that Madison has not done before.  Mommy prepared everything, and during the earlier parts of the service, we had Communion together as a church.  It was a nice moment.  As said many times before, the church is not the building, but rather the people that make up body of Christ.

We had a nice breakfast together, and after this, it was time to watch our KidPak service.  The booklets and the video were all released today, something we all worked hard on this week.

It was "Faith over Fear," and although the video was just fifteen minutes long, it turned out really well.  We had a new game segment, which you can see part of here, or at least a screen capture of it:

Josh is holding the alligator of doom, which was used by the boys team to topple the tower the girls team was working on.  It was a frantic race to see who could build the tallest tower in a certain time limit.  And of course, you had to watch out for the ...ALLIGATOR OF DOOM!

The video this morning was set up nicely, with some of our other KidPak videos that supported our message also woven into the service.  Here, you can see one video that features two of Madison's LEGO characters, Jamie Lynn and Ole.

Jamie Lynn is of course a legendary LEGO figure in our house.  She's the alien on the left, a visitor to the LEGO theme park, and one of the three main characters of our LEGO series at KidPak.  Mary Shannon actually came in this week to re-record her voice.

Of course, we preached the gospel this morning too.  With a series titled, "Faith Over Fear," you can guess that our theme was speaking faith into children's lives, with encouraging scriptures that speak courage and comfort.  It was a good message, as are the next ones we have lined up.  It's a new world, church that is strictly online.  But I believe we made a proper go of it.

Oh, look what else we were able to do today!  This is a LEGO pit droid, Madison's next LEGO creation.  It actually folks up into a more compact shape, just like the ones do in Episode I, and that episode of "The Mandalorian."  Speaking of which, that's the next LEGO creation we're bringing upstairs, a Jango Fett.  Stay tuned for that one...

We were working on a Thomas Kinkade painting with a "Lady and the Tramp" theme - it's about 500 pieces.  It's going to take a few days, as we're just sort of tinkering with it here or there.  Stay tuned for that too.  We had a few episodes of "Tron: Uprising" on, and we actually watched the end of season three of "Kickin' It," which had an ending that suggests that it is all over for the series.  This was confusing, as we see there's a season four available.  We'll watch that later on.

Because tonight after dinner, it was time for "The Music Man" on the big screen.  That's right, it's time for Madison to watch some great American classic musicals!  We start our series with "The Music Man," simply because it is Daddy's favorite.  Hands down.  Love this movie.  Madly.  Every song, every joke, every part of it is just so great.  It holds up so well from 1962, and it makes me wish I could go and be a citizen of River City in a way, just to hang out with all the characters there.  I would indeed give Iowa a try.  There was a Madison reference too - I forgot there was a Madison Park, which of course is named after the same Miser Madison that the gymnasium, picnic park and hospital are named after.  She enjoyed it, although it's a longer movie.  Most of these musicals are, kiddo.  Get used to it!

It's such a happy movie though.   I remember watching this as a kid, and there was this big hailstorm outside that popped up suddenly, and there we were outside looking at balls of ice the size of a golf ball.  Not that this has any reflection of the movie - it's just an early memory, a very early one.

What sticks with you most is the music, and of course that's still sticking with me now, as I'm singing stuff by the Buffalo Bills, or songs about the Wells Fargo Wagon and Gary, Indiana.

Tonight we ended the day with reading, prayer, zerberts, and hide-and-seek as always.  It was a good day, and we're keeping busy.  We're going to stay as positive as we can through all of this.  We're living faith over fear, and avoiding that Alligator of Doom!
