Impromptu Camp

A special camp started today, and as you can see above, we weren't greeting each other with the traditional elbow greeting that has been so prevalent during the virus shutdown.  Nope, it was all with side kicks today!

There were about seven or eight in class today, a camp throughout the week that features a bit of taekwondo, and a bit of time for homework as well.  You can see all the kids found different spots to do their classwork.

All the schools are out this week - in fact, the Governor issued a declaration that has everyone at home from school until at least the end of the month.  The idea is to keep us all away from large groups.  In fact, the President mentioned groups of less than ten.  That's what today was, the kids doing some training exercises without necessarily using contact - instead of self defense, there's an emphasis more on breaking boards.  Instead of sparring, there's more of a focus on form.  And there was a kicking game too...

Madison got home afterwards, and continued her homework on Daddy's computer.  It took her a few hours, but she got through it all.  She spends more time on her classwork than most, I suspect.  But she was focused and doing it all.

We had a nice meal together tonight, a quiet dinner.  The taekwondo camp may not happen next week, given what is going on in teh world.  But we must try to move on as best we can.  The Great American Shutdown is here.

Tonight we read from our devotional, and read from our other book as well.  We don't have to return that to the library this month, as the library is closed the rest of the month.  A lot is closing down.  Daddy is returning to the office tomorrow, but it's not mandatory.  Still, we figure we need to do something for the children, so we'll be addressing that tomorrow.

In all my life, I've never seen anything like this.  So surreal!
