Nerdo and Ant-Man

We had our service this morning, and with all that's going on, it would have been something extra to do another skit this morning.  But Madison wanted to do this mad-lib, and so we took the theme of Ant-Man, and made it into a small skit.  This is the one that Madison helped write.  It involves a bit of transparent fishing wire, dragging a box across the stage at one point, as if Ant-Man himself is dragging the box to someone.  Also, it features Nerdo, one of our goofier characters you can see above.  He's next to Camille, who is obviously playing a victim of some sort.

We were doing church this morning, but also planning quite a bit.  Still printing, designing, editing, and still actually writing a bit too.  Getting closer!

KidPak Adventures: Superheroes

Ant-Man

CUE TRACK:  1 LIFE GOES ON

HOST:  “A few years ago, in a far away  place…… 
One ___________ night, something interesting happened.  A person named ___________ was walking along downtown _____________.”

VOLUNTEER comes out STAGE RIGHT.

HOST:  “She was out exercising.  She liked to come here to __________ in place.”

VOLUNTEER does as instructed.

CUE TRACK:  2 FIRST CONFRONTATION

THUGS enter.

HOST:  “When all of the sudden, two ____________ thugs jumped out.  They said, ‘Give us all your ______________!”

THUGS do as instructed.

HOST: “Oh no!  What a terrible situation!  The poor woman screamed like a _____________ little ______________!”

VOLUNTEER does as instructed.

HOST:  “And the thugs laughed like _______________.  And they _____________ on the floor!”

THUGS do as instructed.

HOST: “They were clearly not going to stop in their robbery attempt.  Fortunately, along came a Good Samaritan!”

NERDO enters STAGE RIGHT.

HOST:  “Nerdo saw what was happening, and knew he had to do something.  He said, ‘Oh my _____________!’

NERDO does as instructed.

HOST:  “And he made a sound that sounded like a ________________!”

NERDO attempts to make the sound effect.

CUE SOUND EFFECT:  POOT

NERDO:  “Sorry!”

HOST:  “The thugs just laughed at him.  But little did they realize, that this was his secret signal to call for help from a real life superhero.”

NERDO:  (to THUGS) “You’re going to get it now!”

HOST:  “For right here, right now, comes the one and only Ant-Man!”

NERDO, THUGS and VOLUNTEER look around.

HOST:  “He’s up there somewhere.  He’s kind of hard to spot.  Sort of ____________.  Nevertheless, they had to stop him!  The thugs began stomping their feet like _______________ ugly ______________!”

THUGS stomp around for a bit to music.  NERDO takes VOLUNTEER and the two fall towards back wall of stage.

CUE TRACK: 3 EVERYBODY DANCE NOW

THUGS stop, looking around.

CUT TRACK

HOST:  “But they missed!  And that’s when Ant-Man jumped really high and gave one a good old-fashioned Chuck Norris roundhouse kick to the face!”

CUE TRACK: 2 FIRST CONFRONTATION

THUG 1 pretends to get kicked in face by small Ant-Man, and then staggers backwards.

As this happens, THUG 2 is going offstage to get ant spray, and brings it back.  NERDO shields VOLUNTEER.

HOST:  “But oh no!  This thug has ant killer!   What can we do to help Ant-Man?  Maybe Nerdo could help?  But how?”

HOST:  “Fortunately, there was hope.  Ant-Man dragged a small box over to Nerdo.”

SMALL BOX is dragged by fishing wire over to NERDO and VOLUNTEER 

HOST:  “What’s inside of that box?”

HOST:  “Just what I need to help out!”

NERDO reaches in and pulls out squirt guns, loaded, and hands one of them to VOLUNTEER.

HOST:  “It’s a weapon of mass destruction!  Some locals call it the _____________ destroyer!”

NERDO:  “Take that, villainous scum!”

NERDO and VOLUNTEER squirt gun at THUGS, who run off STAGE RIGHT.  NERDO inadvertently squirts into audience of course.  And then NERDO deliberately squirts into audience again.

HOST:  “Nerdo!”

NERDO: “Sorry!”

HOST:  “Nerdo, you saved the day!  You helped Ant-Man, and he’s got a message for you.”

CUE TRACK: 4 ANT MAN THEME

ANT-MAN’S VOICE:  “Nerdo, you’ve acted like a real hero today.  By thinking of others first, and wanting to serve, you’ve saved the day.  And you’ve saved my life.  …and Nerdo?   I’m over here.”

NERDO turns around to face the other way, looking to ground.

NERDO:  “Sorry!  I knew that!  I was testing you!”

ANT-MAN’S VOICE:  “I’ve got to go now. There’s a problem with a picnic in Winnepeg with taquitos.”

BACKSTAGE:  “HEY, TAQUITOS!”

ANT-MAN’S VOICE:  “I’m not going to go into details, but it isn’t pretty.  Ant-Man… away!”

HOST:  “And so, we learned a valuable lesson today.  The best way to be a hero, is to be one that serves __________________.”

NERDO:  “That’s not right.  A hero is one that serves… others!”

HOST:  “I knew that.  Because when you do that with your life, it’s no small feat.  The end!”

NERDO and VOLUNTEER bow, and exit as lights fade.
