Trust Fall!

Here's Daddy, living the dream.  He always wanted to be a parade host, and with the video we showed at KidPak this morning, he got to do just that.  This was a fun little video that celebrated the Thanksgiving Parade, but also talked about the first parade we know of, the one in the Bible in the book of Joshua.  That was a parade of faith, and as we were talking about faith today, it all worked together well with a fun theme.

The entire morning was dedicated to faith - to be more precise, Hebrews, chapter 11.  This is the Hall of Faith, which Daddy always imagines to be like the Hall of Heroes in Disney Infinity.  Golden statues of the famous Bible heroes tower overhead as you walk through and read about each person's legacy.  We had some great videos this morning - and a fun skit that continued our ongoing LEGO-themed story.  In today's drama, an angel comes to assist Professor Wisenheimer.  This angel happens to be wearing an Angels ball cap, which is a big nod to the movie "Angels in the Outfield."  We even played a short bit of the music as the angel arrives on stage.

Another fun thing with the service is the TRUST FALL.  We had an example of this on stage today, so Madison wanted to try this when we got home.  Can you believe it took about five attempts for her to fully trust that Daddy was catching her?  On stage, the kids that were volunteering weren't trusting anyone completely either!  There's a lesson there in that though - sometimes faith takes practice?  Sometimes we're not so quick to lean on God, but once we get into the habit of doing it, it becomes easier to do.  And that's just what happened with Madison.  Soon, she was there with eyes closed and her arms crossed, falling backwards and safely into Daddy's arms.

This weekend was a new movie that we all wanted to see, and it was worth it.  "Big Hero 6" was a great flick with some amazing visuals and a good story.  The team in the movie was pretty fun and creative, and yes, there's a little thing after the credits to see.  Madison's favorite character is GoGo Tomago, a fast-moving Asian girl with some specialized wheels for gliding around on - or throwing.

Josh and Kellan came along for the fun, and of course we had the obligatory tub of popcorn to share amongst us.  We sat in the back row, and the verdict on the movie was a thumbs up from everyone, including Madison, of course.

We got home, and were pretty zonked for the day.  Nevertheless, we're starting a few things here - one thing is the Christmas tree.  It is in the great room now, with lights on.  And even a few ornaments.  Yes, the process has begun!  We're listening to a bit of Christmas music here and there, although we haven't pulled the trigger on Christmas movies quite yet.  Usually, we've started by now - but this year is has been a little different on holiday-themed movies.  Still, we'll probably be starting that up soon.  There are a few we can't wait to see again.  Some never get old!
