The last few days, Madison has been dealing with a canker sore, something she's never really experienced before. Fortunately, this morning, it reduced in size to the point that it was no longer that irritating. We know this, because this morning Madison came down the stairs, triumphantly announcing that the cankersaurus was gone.
So today is the day after the elections. We did in fact watch "You're Not Elected, Charlie Brown." And as far as Madison knows, this was yesterday's message to those who represent the blue team. That's essentially how it is broken down to Madison: there's a red team and a blue team. Yesterday, the red team basically trampled over the blue team with a blow-out score.
We'll have to try and find a few episodes of School House Rock to educate her further. That's how Daddy learned about the three branches of government. Don't you remember that song, "I'm Just a Bill"?
This pretty much explains all you need to know about how a law is passed. Of course, there are committees and whatnot, but this is the basics. And surprisingly, a lot of folks aren't completely familiar with how it all works. Daddy was fascinated when he was younger, even serving with a Youth Assembly, sitting in the Georgia Congress, attempting to pass a bill himself. I also went in the direction of the Supreme Court, serving as a lawyer, arguing cases before the Supreme Court there. We actually got to sit in the chairs that Representatives sit in, and actually argue cases in the Supreme Court itself. Quite an experience, one that we'd love Madison to get involved in, at least to learn about the process.
So today was Wednesday. Madison did piano quite a bit, with that pie in her sights. Daddy and Mommy might give her additional motivation, although Daddy isn't quite ready to get a pie in the face here. Madison also went to tennis, and did her homework as well - she had quite a full afternoon.
I love how small she is in this photo, but there is so much potential in this tiny seed! Already, she is blossoming daily in front of our eyes, full of talent, humor, intelligence. She's always surprising us!

And here she is at the church - we had church tonight. The church is in the middle of campaign this month called #MADEFORMORE. This display is just outside the main sanctuary, a place to snap photos to share on social media sites - like this one, apparently!
