We had just gotten home and weren't exactly ravenous for ice cream, and yet faintly in the distance, even indoors, we could hear that siren song of the ice cream truck traveling through the neighborhood. It was like that guy from "Chitty-Chitty Bang Bang" calling out for children, this irresistible force that got us scrambling for quarters and dimes and loose change, adding just enough to get outside, and then waiting at the porch for the chance to grab some genuine ice cream truck treasure.
Isn't it funny how we really don't have much of a choice when hearing that ice cream truck? It was good ice cream afterwards too, although I'm still finding my way with the dairy free issues.
This morning we were off to Doc Williams for some much-needed chiropractic work. While waiting in the family room, we found that small etch-a-sketch, so we made a little message...
That was for Maddie initially, but she thought it would be funny to put it by one of Doc Williams funny photos, and...
He got a kick out of it, and actually left it there after we were gone. Maddie was cracking up (so to speak) as she was getting her adjustment - she still laughs hard when going to the chiropractor - she has a long history of that! Afterwards, we made arrangements for the next appointment towards the end of October. He decorates the place for Halloween quite a bit, and usually it's a lot of fun!
Today I started to put together the treadmill... and let's just say it's a work in progress. That'll take a while. But we were packing for our upcoming trip, and we had leftovers, eating some Chinese food from yesterday for lunch. Maddie was in Stardew Valley for a long, long time today. It's vacation week, so that's okay, sort of!
Tonight was taekwondo, and I'm watching her right now as she works on her form. Earlier she was sparring while being limited to just her fists, and sometimes just her kicks. They're doing well. I just got back from grocery shopping, and I got a lot of gluten-free treats for Mom for the trip, and some other things too - we're loaded up and ready to go there.
After taekwondo, we were packing and relaxing too, watching a few more episodes of "Loki" as we prep for season two. We're making a lot of arrangements ahead of time for the week, so it's been a little busy. Mom stayed up pretty late packing. We read tonight and prayed. It was a good day.
