Home from Camp

Time for one last group shot before leaving camp!  Maddie is standing there at the center towards the front, just before everyone hops on the buses to go home.

The weather was just perfect for this camp, and that was such a blessing for the students.  Maddie had such a good time - she was talking about it quite a bit, sharing pictures and looking for other pictures when we got home.  She was telling us all about it!

Here's her final notes for camp:

Day four- the trip back
Tater tots, coffee
Got Jas’s number
Group pics with Chloe, Jas, Charlene, and a few others
Gave away the FCY bracelet I made to Kimberly, Proverbs to Charlene. Kimberly really had wanted to make her own bracelet but she wasn’t able to
Started leaving at 10:49 am

We ate later on today, and we continued our cleaning up of the basement, which is going well.  Tonight we watched "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children," mainly because yesterday was Loop Day.  Maddie was at camp of course, so she couldn't watch it then.  But we had plenty of time on this Labor Day to watch it, and then a really funny episode of "Monk" afterwards, the one where they keep making jokes about not changing the theme song.  Which of course they did.

It was a quiet day.  Mom made this delicious mushroom soup, and for dessert, I had Count Chocula, my first taste of that wonderful chocolate cereal this year.  I'm not a huge fan of Carmella Creeper, though I've been slowly going through that box of late just to give it a chance.  It's okay.  And it really puts the spotlight on Count Chocola when that bowl gets poured, because man, that was some good stuff.  Yes, it's not as good as the original Count Chocola back in the day.  But nevertheless, it's a taste of this season that we love a lot.

Moving on, we said our prayers tonight and did some reading too.  And we got to bed early.  Tomorrow's going to be a great day!
