Back to the Routine

The hummingbirds have been flitting about the back deck, always territorial about the feeder we have hanging up there.  This little one has been perching on the railing there a lot lately, standing vigil at its post while posing for a nice little close-up shot.

It was a quiet day, comparatively speaking to the last few days we've had.  Maddie was back to school, and a little later this morning, sleeping in a little more.  She was on time for school, but just the weekend's schedule was a bit different sleep wise.  Okay, a lot different.

We were working on a few things at work, including the new Ripley's Believe it or Not theme that we're coming up with for October's series.  Ansley's artwork is getting super close to the final product here.  Pastor Lance wants to adjust the rainbow somewhat, as he feels it makes the things look like it's for a much younger audience.

That'll be easier to adjust.  So meanwhile, the booklets for this series will be created, and I had to write a description for the back cover.

Our Bibles are filled with some strange and fascinating tales, stories of faith and amazing adventures!  Join us now for a remarkable journey through God’s Word, and discover the champs and chumps of the Bible, those mighty heroes of faith and the villainous scoundrels always ready for a fall.  Get ready for the odd and the unusual, the weird and the wonderful.  Believe it or not, it’s time for Extraordinary Tales from the Bible!

That's where I wound up.  I wanted the word "odd" in there so much that I spent a long time trying to work it in.  The phrase "champs and chumps" is a tribute to the first comic that Ripley wrote, and of course the phrase "Believe it or not" has to be in there.  Oh, and "ready for a fall" is just a little nod to our personal yearly trips to Gatlinburg each autumn.  Anyway, that should be fun.

Tonight we saw the next episode of "Ahsoka," which ends on quite an amazing note, a cliffhanger that just makes you desperate to see what happens next.  The episode on the whole was really good, the three of us waiting for 9pm on the dot to see the next installment.  We read some more from our Discworld book after that.  We're almost done with "The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents," which is a fantastic book, by the way.  We prayed after that - the large squishmallow cow named "Meadow" was right there in my bed with a large hamper on its head when I got in there - we're back to having her in all these places, surprising each other.  And we're back to reading each night with the plush entourage.  It's good to be back to the routine again.
