We're finally here, back in Oz for the start of our series, and there's Camille again to the left, joining up with our cast once more. But look at these costumes! Mom did such a great job with them as she always does, and it was just a sense of magic this morning, with the total package for this series. We had Scarecrow trivia, a video with Scarecrow looking for wisdom, our wonderful skit team starting out a skit series that we'll have ongoing for about five weeks or so, and a message at the end from Pastor Lance all about King Solomon and scriptures in the book of James, with a little assistance from the Scarecrow, of course...
Here are a few more pictures from this morning's service, from our cast during practice a bit, posing for pictures, and during the service too.
And that was just the morning! After church, we got home and had ourselves a wonderful meal that Mom prepared. We had ears of corn, and I grilled hot dogs, and there was macaroni salad, potato salad, and all kinds of toppings and lemonade and just a wonderful feast.
This afternoon we watched a movie, "The Tomorrow War," which featured lots of machine guns and exploding alien goo, and was pretty fun if you're into that sort of thing. And of course there was a bit of Wimbledon as well.
But tonight Nana and Ye-Ye came over, and it was time for our neighborhood to show off once more. We had some desert at the house, but soon enough, we were all outside with our lawn chairs, enjoying all the fireworks that were being launched. I love the sound of the Fourth of July in our neighborhood, with fireworks going off from all different directions far away and close by. It's just a special night, a great holiday really, and lots of fun. Here below are some of the pictures taken tonight from our neighborhood:
Maddie had a great night. We got home and brushed all the debris from our hair, while looking through some of the videos and pictures we took from tonight, but honestly, most of our time was just sitting there staring upwards, enjoying the show above. Nana and I walked with Maddie down to the main area where we were the last few years, and that's where another show was going on, one with a huge finale. Nana and I sat down in our lawn chairs and just looked straight up at the spectacular show in the sky. She really enjoyed it.
After the long walk home, we were ready to settle down. Maddie was sharing a few pictures with me from tonight, ones she took with her phone. They came out well!
It was such a full, fun day. Wonderful day. So glad we could be together to enjoy it! We read from Kingdom Keepers again tonight, but not as much. We were ready to get some sleep!
