Almost Blueberry Time!

More of our blueberries are starting to ripen, and I can't wait!  We walk out there and take a peek each day, checking on the bushes.  My mother told me the bushes need more fertilizer beneath, as apparently blueberry bushes need acid in the ground, so we may do that to help these plants along.  But I'm excited about having our own crop here.  We may start a blueberry farm after this year, jarring our own blueberry jams and making blueberry muffins for hungry customers that come from all over.  No, I'm not serious - we only have three bushes.

We were out shopping for costume accessories today, mostly last-minute additions like socks and make-up.  We also were out getting groceries, something we've been lacking in lately, but Mom wanted to get a few classic items for the Fourth of July tomorrow, so we were in getting a lot of that too.  Speaking of food, she made this incredible breakfast this morning, another skillet breakfast with everything prepared in one skillet.  It's such a great visual, and then of course it's all so delicious.  This was a treat for me, as I'm not really supposed to eat some of the items in that skillet so much due to saturated fat and sodium.  I was limiting my intake, but yes, it was all really, really good.

Maddie and I were back in Oz again, back with LEGO Dimensions.  You can't play video games as long though, as Nana needs something to do, so after a shorter bit of time playing games we had this Olympic Channel on and another channel that plays Olympic sport related programming.  We actually watched a lot of the ceremony where they light the flame for the first time, the same flame that will be carried over to Tokyo.  This took place in Olympia, Greece.  We also watched a special on the greatest swim race ever, that epic contest in Beijing where we beat the French for the gold medal at the very last second.  I remember watching that when it happened, and races do not get much more exciting than that one.  This was a look back on the race itself, and it had all the feels.  While this stuff is playing, we're getting ready for tomorrow's service while Nana sits on the couch to watch, and yes there's Wimbledon too.  We've never actually watched as much Wimbledon as we are now, but that's not bad.  When I'm able, it would be nice to go out there and hit the ball back and forth on the tennis courts with Maddie.

Tonight we watched "Onward" again, somewhat as research for the Summer Xtreme Nights event we have coming up later this month.  The theme is "Thunderstruck," and I felt something within that movie might help with ideas for the event.  I'm still processing it all, but it's so last-minute and we're trying to get skits together and messages and all of it.  Lots to do there.

What an exciting chapter for "Kingdom Keepers IV" tonight, as we read about Willa's escape.  Maddie lines up all her plush friends on the bed around me, and joins them, as together they listen each night.  Tonight's chapter was another long one, but rather than break it up, we just kept reading because we had to find out if Willa would escape and how, and would Finn, Maybeck and Philby get out of trouble themselves?  I love story time.  Maddie is enjoying this series, but she's also enjoying "The Mysterious Benedict Society," so that might be a book series for the future as well.

We said our prayers tonight, and soon we were off to sleep.  Had to get to bed earlier tonight, because tomorrow is an early morning, and the start of a pretty huge day!
