This morning the Tin Man was the focus of our skit, along with a message about the heart of course. It was another great morning at KidPak, and this series is rapidly becoming a sentimental favorite. The actors are just so into it, and doing so well, and the story, games, videos and messages have been very solid. I'm just loving seeing this one happen, and I'm pretty grateful for it all. Nana was with us this morning, and she's enjoying service too. She can't resist grabbing hold of the Cowardly Lion's tail! Today's service also had a visit from the one and only Almira Gulch, our series antagonist. But there's a twist with things - not a twister. We'll find out what happens next as this series comes along, but it's been so easy to write, because it's been such a fun theme.
We got home for a bit, and yes, we watched the Wimbledon finals, where Novak Djokovic won once more, and it was actually a really good final match. It's been incredible watching tennis these past few years, watching the three men's champions just dominate the rest of the field for so long.
Anyway, we didn't sit around long at the house, because after that we were off to a wedding shower for our friends Isaac and Josie. The theme was tacos, and we were up for that, of course. There were even taquitos there! But most importantly, there were friends there too, and we sat and talked with everyone for an hour or so, just relaxing and hanging out at the church.
After that was FC Youth, and Maddie was there with the rest of the youth, starting out a new series there called "Sour." It was a really good service, and Maddie was glad to go. There is something wonderful happening with the youth now, and I'm so glad she has a place to go each Sunday night.
Getting home, we were picking some blueberries outside, and sitting on the back deck for a bit, where it's so relaxing. The cicadas aren't quite there yet, not the cacophony that was foretold just yet. Maybe that comes later, but it's just a nice night outside with the fireflies all around, and the sounds of nightfall in the woods.
Shark Week started today, so we were watching something from Australia about sharks and surfers and keeping the two apart. It was hosted by the guy who plays "Thor," so that made it fun. But I've always wanted to watch at least one thing for Shark Week, so there's that. There's a ton of specials on sharks premiering this week - it's amazing. We went to bed tonight after reading, and saying our prayers too. It was a pretty full day.
