We got the video edited today of Maddie's scavenger hunt versus Gabriel, another friend from taekwondo that happens to go to the church as well. We filmed this not long ago, and it was super fun, but it's the first time that Maddie was the the sole representative of the girls' team, meaning she was playing alone versus Gabriel, who was representing the boys. And, perhaps even more significantly, she won the game for the first time!
This was her first time on the winning side, and as we watched the video we could see how victory happened. Gabriel was certainly taller and faster, but Maddie was quicker with her mind when it came to the clues. At one point, she wasn't even running so much as walking towards the third clue, relaxed and maybe even a bit confident. She was slightly nervous, but she had this one in the bag. We were watching the completed video tonight, and no doubt we'll watch it a few more times before the weekend is over. Maddie had a great time.
Tonight was taekwondo, so we were over there for a bit too. Maddie was helping as an assistant for the first class, and then joining the leadership class afterwards. Nana and I were there to watch, and also chat a bit with the other parents and instructors there as the evening went on. There is a lot going on with KidPak and the Youth, so I was doing some work too. It was a super busy day.
I started out with cardio therapy, and there's only about five classes left or so. I was on that elliptical today, and I don't like that one as much, but I slogged it out for 45 minutes, getting the heart rate up to the 130's again. My blood pressure has been pretty low, but I think that's a combo of the medication and the heart getting stronger.
Check out this caricature of me that we were doing at the office. It's an app on the phone, so I'm going to have Maddie find this and maybe do one for her and Mom too. It was such a busy day today, and this was a fun little break.
We closed out the day today with an episode of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." and then some reading from "Kingdom Keepers IV." Maddie's been cleaning out her room because we'll have guests in there tomorrow. Uncle George is coming down from Ohio, and that'll be nice. We said our prayers tonight after all was said and done, and as usual lately, were were asleep very quickly.
