Here's Madison kicking through the green board for the first time. Just like all the other belts have colors, so too do the boards that the students kick at when they train. Each one signifies a higher strength, and therefore a higher level of difficulty to break through. And so with training, not only do the students graduate from belt color to belt color, they also graduate from board colors as well. Madison was somewhat bummed that she didn't get through the green board the other times she attempted tonight. But neither did many of the others, and the point is, she did get through once, and it made for a nice moment. And a nice picture, which you see above.
We've had a bit of taxi service this week, going from the office to home to Quinlan to the office to Quinlan to taekwondo to home. Today when Daddy picked up Madison from the Quinlan art camp, Day Four must have been a messy one! Madison and the other art students were painting some of the clay creations they made yesterday, and they'll be finishing tomorrow on the last day. She's enjoyed the art camp this week, although there's no "play time." The students are more focused on the art, and with older ones, it's easier to not lose that focus. Madison has been working away on a few different projects this week, and having a decent time in class. Each one is about three hours long, and it's been all week with one more day to go. These weeks go by fast!
We got home and there were tacos, so that makes everything all right. Daddy and Mommy had chicken quesadillas, and then there was time for a movie. Daddy wanted to watch a baseball movie, so "Field of Dreams" it was. Although it's a slower, less comical, and quieter movie, Madison was getting into it. "If you build it, he will come."
We read some more from "Heir to the Empire" tonight, which is a larger book, but everyone seems to be enjoying it. I'm sorry, but this three-book series is what should have been the next three movies. I think there are a lot of people who agree with me on this one.
Madison was doing some Stardew Valley today, and there was a lot of house cleaning to do. Daddy was writing messages for the next series, amongst other things, such as helping out an outreach ministry, warehouse issues, this weekend's material, and so on. It was a good day today, although a hot and muggy one. The rains came later, but it was still hot and muggy afterwards. I think it'll be that way for a few more days, but that's what happens in the summer time. We'll enjoy it while it lasts - just a few more weeks, and there's school, and that whole season starts kicking in gear all over again. So let's savor these last few days, even if they're hot and muggy ones.
