We got to stop and spend some time with Jovanna, our good friend from KidPak - a very talented actress on stage! She's played many different characters for us over the years, and lately has been working as a waitress at Cracker Barrel. Madison had a great time here today, as we timed it perfectly. Jovanna was getting off her shift, and so the four of us sat together and had lunch, talking about all kinds of things.
It was a big day today, with a few visits to another church's warehouse to see all their props. We're trying to get those props to our church, but there's a question of room. Daddy was also coordinating the visit with the 501st, all those Stormtrooper volunteers. They dropped by this same warehouse, picking up a lot of the Star Wars related material.
We dropped by the Goodwill in Buford, the original location. With the new one opening just down the road, I'm guessing this old location won't be around much longer. Madison and Mommy found all kinds of good stuff there, from CDs to books to lots of different clothing options. Plus, it's Tuesday there, and you know what that means.
We started the day off in Alpharetta though, with a trip to the dentist. Both Mommy and Daddy had to have some repair work done. Mommy had to have some repairs on a tooth that was actually put in by this very same dentist way back in the 80's! As for Daddy, he was flossing (not the dance), and actually had a chip come off of one his caps. So there was that drill again... one of the most unpleasant sound effects you can hear coming from your mouth! But the morning wasn't so bad at all, really. For one, we had Madison with us here for the first time in ages. The last time she was here, in fact, she was maybe four or five years old. In fact, Daddy was telling this story... on one memorable occasion, Mommy was having some work done on her teeth while Daddy was in the waiting area, entertaining Madison. She was super young, and there was a mighty smell - this was a diaper that needed changing right away! Daddy changed his first diaper in the bathroom next door here, a fact that he was proudly sharing with Sally, the dentist's receptionist. This was much to Madison's embarrassment, of course!
Anyway, what a day for driving around. We drove down to Alpharetta for the dentist, across to Buford's Goodwill and then Larenceville's warehouse, and then up to Flowery Branch to Cracker Barrel, and back home near Dawsonville to get ready for taekwondo, which is in Oakwood. It was another full day - and quite a bit different. But we were productive, and as you can see in the picture above, having a decent time!
