Mom is the Bob-omb!

Last night we made this gift basket for Mommy - it's themed around a few bath bombs that we got Mommy, along with some of her favorite scented bubble baths as well.  So we had that bomb idea, and thought it would be fun to make a "bob-omb" character from the Mario world.  We had a styrofoam ball from waaaaay back when we did the memory spheres from "Inside Out."  Below that we have some Mr. Potato Head shoes from Disney World, and a spray paint can for the top, along with some felt that's all rolled up to look like the wick at the top.  Anyway, it came out pretty well, along with the card we made:

We signed our names and wrote little notes on the sign there, talking about "having a blast" on her birthday.  It was pretty fun, and Mommy liked the basket, and of course the stuff inside.  And the thought behind it.

It was a good day today, though school seems to be wrapping up with less and less to do academically.  There were some good grades in PE, and her summative test on Latin America went well with a 97.  But there seems to be more extra-curricular things coming up than academic ones, such as "yearbook day" or a reward day for good behavior, or an upcoming fair - things like that.  Anyway, the school year is slowly wrapping up, and there's been a lot of good news of late.

Madison has been practicing her piano at home, three times a day on her recital piece, which is sounding better and better as we get closer to the recital.  We read tonight, and did our usual routine - and Daddy was at home tonight too.  He fell hard yesterday, and the end result was a sore day today.  We sat and watched a new movie tonight, one that was okay - it was called, "40 Pounds of Trouble."  The one thing about this movie is that it is the first to be filmed in Disneyland.  This doesn't make it a Disney movie, oddly enough.  I think if it were, it would have been better.  For some reason, they gave Tony Curtis full run of the place, allowing this massive on foot chase scene between two people through the park, on and off of rides.  It's as if a couple of teenagers brainstormed a chase scene that involved nearly every ride in the park.  It's wacky, as are a lot of movies from that era, but it started out pretty slow, and ultimately was just an okay movie.  Still, we're glad we checked it out.

It was bedtime after that - we were all pretty tired.  Daddy is medicated, so he was out like a light.  We read some more in Neverland - that story is getting close to wrapping up here.  And we read from our devotional as well.  We said our prayers, and were extra thankful for Mommy, who we hope had a nice birthday today.
